Streetlights for Talisay City Rural Barangays Kick Off as Mayor Neil Lizares III Pushed for Electrical/Lamp Posts Installation in Hda. Sagrado 1, Brgy. Zone 16

Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III takes on the initial phase of his administration’s rural street lighting program which is specifically intended for the upland barangays piloting the unlighted streets of Hda. Sagrado 1, Barangay Zone 16 of this city. Lizares aims to install electrical/lamp posts in this community which has suffered the inconvenience of dark roads and pathways making them vulnerable to road mishaps and criminalities.

In a meeting at the City Mayor’s Office yesterday with Engr. Dennis G. Fernandez Area Manager- Talisay City Field Office Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO), Lizares asked CENECO to be the city’s partner in this initiative which is covered under the project entitled “Extension of 7-Spans Single Phase Primary Line with 7-spans underbuild Secondary Line, Extension of 14-Spans Open Secondary Line and Installation of 2-10KVA Distribution Transformer together with their Accessories”. This endeavor technically is a joint-project between Ceneco and the city government of Talisay as it is underscored that the materials of the project shall be provided by the LGU and labor as the counterpart of CENECO.
Mayor Neil E. Lizares conducted an on-sire inspection of one of the roads projected to be lighted at Hda. Sagrado 1, Barangay Zone 16. Talisay City.
Also present in the meeting were City Administrator Atty. Jonathan Ealdama and Assistant City Administrator Ismael Penado, the City Engineering Office represented by Engineer John Mark Perido and Joey Tribaco. It was a relevant occasion as well for CENECO to inform the city that all maintenance, new installation or even upgrading of lines may be properly channeled through their cooperative to avoid overloading and any unnecessary problem that could trigger fire.
The program, as discussed by Mayor Nilo E. Lizares will install electrical/lamp posts in Hda Sagrado 1, Barangay Zone 16. which for long has suffered the inconveniece of dark roads and pathways. This program is a partnership between Talisay City and CENECO Talisay Field Office.
