New Covered Court Opens at Catabla Baybay Elementary School to Enhance School Facilities
Talisay City continues to strengthen its commitment to education with the turnover of a newly constructed covered court at Catabla Baybay Elementary School on March 24. The facility, officially handed over by Mayor Neil Lizares and Vice Mayor Nic Jalandoni, provides a safe and comfortable space for students and teachers to hold school activities, sports events, and community gatherings. The project, which began on October 12, 2023, and was completed in February 2024, was funded through the Local School Board’s Special Education Fund (SEF) as part of the city's ongoing efforts to enhance learning environments and support student development.

Adding to the celebration, Atty. Weng Lizares treated students and teachers to Jollibee meals, making the event even more memorable. The turnover ceremony was attended by key city and education officials, including Evangeline Braza, CBES Principal; Cirilo Ciocon, Punong Barangay; Barangay Kagawads Nancy Garcia and Jubert Malaga; Ismael Penado, Assistant City Administrator and LSB Coordinator; Carl Lizares, SP Member; Anthony Liobet, J.D., CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Myline Cornel, PSDS, Talisay I; and Dr. Anjennete Baroa, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.

Talisay City remains committed to improving educational facilities, ensuring that students and teachers have access to better infrastructure that supports learning and community development.
