Groundbreaking Ceremony for NOLITC Global Campus Held

Gov. Bong Lacson led in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Negros Occ. Language and IT Center (NOLITC) Global Campus at Hda. Manaul, Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City, today.
The campus will have an Admin Building that include classrooms and conference halls, Foreign Language Building, and Administrator’s Office Building.
NOLITC is a technical-vocational institution, registered and accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA), that offers competency-based training programs and services.
It is currently located at Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City and known as the first and only government-run language and information technology center in Region VI.
According to Gov. Lacson, the new NOLITC campus will provide more quality trainings that will lead to more employment opportunities for the out-of-school youth, college drop-outs, high school graduates, and unemployed college graduates in the province.
Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares said that establishment of NOLITC Campus will advance Talisay City’s aim to be the next Smart City, and it will benefit not only the people of Talisay but all Negrenses, as well.
The project is in line with the Provincial Government’s Program on Enhancement of Access to Quality Education and ICT Development under the Abanse Negrense Development Agenda.
Also present in the activity were Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, NOLITC Administrator Dr. Cristina Orbecido, and Provincial Engineer, Engr. Ernie Mapa, among others.
