Mayor Neil Lizares III, received recognition from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Regional Office VI, for his invaluable support and commitment in providing the best assistance and services to the bureau, while Talisay BJMP, was named "City Jail of the Year, for the outstanding leadership, commitment and dedication exhibited by The Talisay BJMP personnel under the leadership of JSINSP Jumcarvi Rosales in fulfilling their mandate in jail services.

The award was given during the 20th Anniversary of the BJMP Regional Office VI, on August 28, held at the Smallville Hotel 21, Iloilo City.
