New Talisay Science City To Host Proposed NOLITC Campus, Win-Win Solution Gaining Momentum

In a series of high level follow-up meetings, Mayor Neil Lizares met with Gov. Bong Lacson at the Provincial Capitol Governor's Office to finalize plans on the proposed site of the Negros Occidental Language Information Technology Center (NOLITC), the province's premiere training center that will find its home in Hda. Mana-ul, Barangay Matab-ang, in a 2-hectare prime property donated by the Montinola family envisioned to form part of a Science Park, the first of its kind in Talisay City and Negros Occidental.

The proposed site is already host to two acclaimed learning institutions- the La Consolacion College- Talisay Campus and the Technological University of the Philippines- Visayas (Luis J. Montinola Resource and Research Center) that houses a metal powder coating facility, the first of its kind in Western Visayas.

Earlier this month, Gov. Bong Lacson personally checked on the site with officers from the Capitol including Negros Occidental Provincial Engineer Engr. Ernie Mapa and NOLITC Vocational School Administrator Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido.

Mayor Neil Lizares III vowed his full support to the project as this will be #gwapongaserbisyo's legacy to Talisay through the partnership with the province of Negros Occidental.
