Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School, City of Talisay Home of the 2017 Divisions Schools Press Conference

About 1,300 student journalists coming from the different public and private schools from the different cities and municipalities in the province came and took part in this year's DSPC, with the theme: Embracing ASEAN Integration: Campus Journalists' Role In Advancing Inclusive Education.
The Local Government of the City of Talisay with the leadership of Honorable Mayor Neil E. Lizares III together with the honorable members of the legislative body headed by City Vice Mayor Samuel Siote had shown their full support and assistance to the said event.
Mayor Neil E. Lizares III with wife Atty. Rowena Lopez Lizares, SPMs Astorga, Ereneta, Villacinand Malan, Asst. City Administrator Ismael Penado and Mr. Gilbert Robles representing the City Vice Mayors Office were all present in the opening ceremony held on Nov. 9, 2017 at Talisay City Gym.
Mayor Neil in his message emphasized the important role of journalists in the society. Henceforth, posed a challenge to all the student journalists attending the said conference to use their skills and gift for writing for the betterment of the society and its people, furthermore, they must always remember that beyond awards and recognition they must steadfast to the principles of truth, fairness and must work for the greater good and not for their own selfish advancements.
As a token of appreciation and manifestation of hospitality as hosts to the said gathering, City if Talisay has provided buses to transport the participants in their benchmarking activity where all of them will be given the chance to explore, learn and enjoy Talisay's world class tourists attractions.
