Talisay Holds Sports Summit

Aimed to improve and revive the golden age of sports under the administration of Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares, the 1st Talisay City Sports Development Summit 2017 was held last August 15 at the Dela Rama Hall of Talisay City Hall.
Around 300 stakeholders from the Department of Education and the 27 barangays of the city attended the event which is expected to be a significant milestone and a major turning-point for reviving the Talisay City sports.
Welcoming the participants are SP members Gabriel Villacin and Rolin Meliton, and Romualdo Batallones, DepEd District Supervisor.
Among those invited resource speakers is former PSC Comm. Eric Loretizo, Ricky Santiago – a 6th Dan blackbelt taekwondo master and 2-time Olympics referee; and former Azkal midfielder Chieffy Caligdong – who currently the head coach of Philippine U14 boys.
Meanwhile, Lizares, on his part asked the participants to work harder for the
revival of sports in Talisay as he vowed to fully support the development of
selected sports. He added that sports instill discipline in the youth and take
them away from drug abuse.*
