Pride of Talisay City, Negros Occidental: Young Talisaynon Kyle Rafanan Takes Center Stage for the World-Famed Musical "Sound of Music"

About 400 Filipino teens auditioned for the Manila staging of the world-renowned musical "Sound of Music", only 18 made it to the lineup one of whom is a Talisaynon Kyle Robert Rafanan, son of Mary Ann Ramos and Raffy Rafanan.
Kyle Robert Rafanan as "Friedrich von Trapp" in a media photo release with South African actress Carmen Pretorius who acts out "Maria", the role which catapulted Julie Andrews to international stardom.
Kyle plays the coveted role of Friedrich von Trapp.
"Sound of Music" is a story/musicale about a cheerful and loving Maria who worked as governess for the seven children of Austrian widow Captain von Trapp. A film was produced in 1965 starring Julie Andrews as Maria. Soundtrack of the musical which became household tunes includes Do Re Mi, So Long, Edelweiss, Sixteen Going Seventeen, etc.
