About 500 student athletes from the different elementary and secondary schools in the City, will be representing the City of Talisay in the various sport events in this year's Area III Athletic Meet, with this year's theme: "Strengthening Partnerships Through Sports".

Mayor Neil E. Lizares III with Sangguniang Panglunsod Member Gabriel Villacin, Department of Education (DepEd) District Supervisor Dr. Romualdo Batallones with the different District Heads and School Heads of the City of Talisay are all present to support the Talisay delegation.

Mayor Neil and the Local Government of Talisay is positive that once again the City of Talisay athletes will bring pride and honor to the city and are hopeful that it will surpass last year's winning record.

In the opening ceremony held in the Silay City Covered Court, the various delegation from the Cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the Municipalities of EB Magalona and Murcia were represented by their Local Chiefs and DepEd Officers.

Dr. Francis "Kiko" Benitez is the Keynote Speaker during the said ceremony.

A friendship lunch at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center capped today's ceremony.
